Wild Card Scheme

What is the Wild Card Scheme?

The Wild Card Scheme aims to provide access to affordable sport and physical activity opportunities. The Scheme is aimed at young people aged 5 - 16 years and people with disabilities who either go to school or live in the Borough.

The Wild Card is a local scheme that entitles the holder to receive additional discounts on:

  1. Charnwood Borough Council's (Active Charnwood) Holiday Activity Programmes (HAP)
  2. Holiday activity programmes run by the Council's three Leisure Centres
  3. Casual swimming sessions at the Council's three Leisure Centres – the discount is applied after any concessionary rates, where applicable, have already been applied.

The three Leisure Centres are administered by Fusion at the following locations:

  1. Loughborough Leisure Centre, Loughborough
  2. Soar Valley Leisure Centre, Mountsorrel
  3. South Charnwood Leisure Centre, Syston

The Wild Card is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase

Who is entitled to a Wild Card?

The Wild Card is only available to the following groups:

  • Children aged 5 - 16 who either live or go to school in the Charnwood Borough
  • People with disabilities who live in the Charnwood Borough

If the card is for a child, an appropriate adult must purchase the card for the child. Ideally this should be a parent or guardian. The child is determined as being the named Wild Card holder.

Types of Wild Card

  • If you are a young person and live or go to school in the borough, the cost is £5.00. This entitles you to a 25% discount on the activities described above.
  • If you are a young person and live or go to school in the borough and your parent/guardian, are receiving certain benefits the Wild Card is FREE and this entitles you to a 50% discount on the activities described above.
  • If you are a young person aged between 5-16 and are considered to have a disability and are receiving certain benefits the Wild Card is FREE. This entitles you to a 25% discount on the activities described above.
  • If you are over aged 16 and consider yourself to have a disability and are receiving certain benefits you are also eligible to have a FREE Wild Card entitling you to 25% discount on the concessionary rate on any casual swimming sessions at all three of our leisure centres.
