Seated Exercise
If you struggle to exercise on your feet due to a long-term illness, for example, it's even more important to try to exercise. Exercise can improve your mood and is really beneficial for your mental health. And you can do this while you sit in a chair. Try doing a series of repetitive movements while sitting down that will improve your posture and balance.
Seated Exercise Class
Our chair-based exercise session is a fun and social class which can help improve balance, coordination and mobility.
The session is run with support from Parkinson's UK, and is suitable for people with Parkinson's, Dementia and Stroke patients as well as people with limited mobility.
Please remember to bring loose, comfortable clothing and shoes, and don't forget a drink!
Venue: Gorse Covert Community Centre, Loughborough
Day/Time: Monday's 2-3pm
Cost: £3.40 per session

Correct Posture
- Neck and head lengthened forward
- Chin parallel to the floor
- Eyes looking straight forward
- Shoulders down and away from ears
- Lower back lengthened and abdominal muscles tightened
- Knees inline over ankles

The Active Charnwood team have devised a leaflet to help you get active at home.
In this leaflet you will find simple exercises to follow using a stress ball, the exercises will help you to help increase strength and mobility. All exercises are performed in a seated position and can be adapted to suit all abilities.
